what’s your return policy?
preloved and vintage clothing items are final sale. beverages are final sale. intimate items are final sale. new clothing may be exchanged within 7 days. credit will be given on a gift card. items must be unworn and unwashed. we have the right to decline an exchange if we feel that the exchange policy is being taken advantage of.
as much as we would love to accommodate everyone’s desires, returns require a lot of resources - for us and mother nature. double the packaging, additional shipping costs, time and labor to reinspect the items and provide refunds. we want to keep our prices as reasonable as possible, and by limiting some items to final sale, it helps us best focus our energy on pursuits that keep us thriving.
we encourage mindful shopping, and ask that you are sure of your decision before purchasing to ensure a satisfactory new wave experience.
if, in the off chance, an item is to arrive damaged, please contact us via email shopthenewwave@gmail.com + we will do our best to either fix or replace the product if possible or issue a store gift card which can be used in-store and online.
what is the difference between preloved and vintage?
vintage is a term commonly used to refer to all old styles of clothing. a generally accepted industry standard is that items made between 20 years ago and 100 years ago are considered "vintage" and they clearly reflect the styles and trends of the era they represent. we take the term vintage very seriously at new wave, and all items that are marked with the title are genuinely 20+ years old (to the best of our ability). it is an honor to carry such well made, seasoned pieces.
we classify “preloved” as an item that is lightly worn / used from 2001-2020. we have examined all items in our store and ensure that they are not damaged, but please inspect them for yourself before buying as everyone has a different standard for secondhand goods. while some customers love the worn in look such as faded fabrics and distressing, for others this might be a turn off, and we understand that.
how do you get in contact with us?
we do not have a phone number. please contact our email shopthenewwave@gmail.com, but keep in mind we are only human and while we check the email daily - it can take up to 72 hours for us to reply. we appreciate your patience and understanding.
how can i sell my products at new wave?
we are highly selective and intentional with the brands that we carry, especially with handmade goods. It’s important that we know the story - where they are from, how items are produced, what materials are used and the brand values. if you are a vendor looking to sell to us wholesale, please send a thorough email to shopthenewwave@gmail.com with any relevant information. please do not send us a dm on instagram. we can’t wait to hear from you.
